1. Manager Technical

Job Purpose:

This position exists to Operate and Manage the NPC System, including the Systems and the Database and facilitate the Development of Enhancements and Changes in the NPC System.


Reports to:

Director Technical


Supervises:

Assistant Manager Technical, Systems Engineer, Database Administrator


Job Duties:

• Lead the Technical Team to Effectively and Efficiently Manage the NPC (Number Portability Clearinghouse) Systems and Database.

• Maintain a Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity Plan.

• Implement the NPC System SOPs.

• Coordinate with the Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs) and Vendors for the timely resolutions of the problems/issues.

• Coordinate with CMOs and Vendors for the Development of Enhancements / Changes in the NPC System and ensure smooth Implementation.

• Monitor and Ensure the Back-Up / Restoration of the NPC Systems.

• Develop and Maintain Technical Documentation of the NPC System including the Database, Systems & Storage.

• Generate Regular and On-Demand Reports on various aspects of Functionality and Service Utilization of MNP Systems.

• Automate MNP Operational Reporting and Systems Maintenance tasks.

• Provide operational and developmental support for existing / new projects in coordination with the internal / external stakeholders.


Academic Qualifications:

4-years Bachelor’s / 2-Year Master’s degree in Computer Sciences, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline


Experience:

• 6+ years of Managing Real-Time IT/Telecom Applications in a Production Environment.

• Hands-on experience of Oracle Database with RAC and Dataguard™ &

• Redhat Linux ™ System Administration.

• Proven experience of managing Web Application Server Technology.


Skills required:

• Strong and Precise, Written and Oral Communication Skills

• Proven record of Technical Documentation Writing

• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

• Shell Scripting/Software Development especially in Java Technologies

• Preference would be given to individuals with good Network Management Skills

2. Database Administrator

BRIEF:

Strong, hands-on Oracle database administration skills to administer, tune, and maintain databases / provide backup & recovery, in RAC configuration on Intel/RISC – Linux/Unix Platform.

Oracle Certified DBA (10g / 11g) with 4-years degree in Computer Sciences, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline .

Candidates with qualifications from reputable institutions shall be preferred. Excellent communication skills (English - written, oral & presentation) and proven hands-on MS-Office Suite experience as well as strong interpersonal skills are required for all positions.


THE JOB:

We are looking for a technically savvy, results-oriented, and quality-focused individual with strong, hands-on Oracle database administration skills to administer, tune, and maintain our OLTP/ Data Warehouse and Back-Office databases. This person will play a key role in ensuring the availability, performance and security of the databases. The responsibilities of this position will include performance monitoring, automation of database related processes; and working with cross-functional teams in a highly collaborative environment. This individual will play an active role in all aspects of database administration and will provide database administration support, review database design and integration of systems, provide backup recovery, and make recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Production and Staging Administration.

• Database Performance Tuning.

• Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle server software and related products .

• Database Loading.

• Development and Management of SOPs.

• Environment Management.

• Database Health (e.g. monitoring, proactive and reactive responses).

• Backup and Recovery Strategy Planning and Implementation.

• Database Upgrade Planning.

The Database Administrator position will require an understanding of the following Oracle products:

• Oracle Database 10g & 11g

• Oracle RAC

• Oracle Grid Control

•Oracle ASM

• Oracle Streams

• Oracle DataGuard™

Candidates also having hands-on knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server would be preferred.


PERFORMANCE AND TUNING:

• Review statistics regularly and at pre-defined intervals Proactive tuning of database instance tuning, memory, I/O, and CPU usage.

• Database instance tuning via interpreting Oracle system internal views.

• Database tuning for optimal performance.

• Expert understanding of Oracle database administration best practices (e.g., schema management, index optimization, and use of hints).

• Maintain performance data archive for historical and planning analysis.

• Monitor and evaluate database resource consumption.

• Ability to perform SQL optimization by generating traces and interprets trace results; and is able to offer findings and recommendations.


EXPERIENCE/ QUALIFICATIONS:

• Oracle Certified DBA (10g / 11g)

• 4-years degree in Computer Sciences, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline

• 3+ years Oracle Database 10g Administration in a Production Environment on Linux / Unix Platform

• 2+ years Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC)

• 2+ years Oracle Grid Control

• 2+ years Oracle Backup and Recovery (RMAN)

• 2 + years Microsoft SQL Server Administration

• Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL

• Must have strong hands-on ASM storage administration experience using external storage like SAN / DAS

• Proven track record of exhibiting fast learning curve for new software technologies

• Strong communication skills in English: written, oral and presentation
